The main attraction is the Jim Corbett National Park. It was India's first national park, established in 1936. It was named after naturalist and environmentalist Jim Corbett. The magnificent Jim Corbett National Park is located near the famed hill-station of Nainital in the Himalayan foothills, is notable for being home to the largest number of tigers of any Indian National Park. The park spans the scenic landscapes of Pauri Garhwal, Almora, and Nainital. A jeep safari into the deep forest to witness wild creatures in their natural environment and, if you're lucky, you could even get to see a tiger. The gorgeous mountains and dazzling lakes contribute a lot to the town's charm. The village is centered on the green alpine lake Naini, which is studded with colorful sailboats on most days. According to legend, the lake was formed when the goddess "Sati's" eyes fell at this location as her body was being carried by Lord Shiva after her death.
